The World War II U.S. Army French Phrase Book, TM 30-602, was the “little blue book” for learning French that was issued almost universally to British and American NCOs and enlisted soldiers during the Normandy landings. This is the 1943 perfect-bound edition.
It is not the low-quality, blurry scanned version commonly sold on eBay. The entire book has been completely re-typeset and carefully proofread, all illustrations redrawn, and the typefaces and paper faithfully matched to the original wartime edition (Figures 3–7 show side-by-side comparisons with an original copy).
It is an excellent prop for World War II historical reenactment as well as a highly collectible and enjoyable piece for display and appreciation.
